Let Us Love One Another, as Christ Jesus Has Loved Us

Lent and Love
Lent is all about God’s love. To see this love clearly we must look to the cross. The Lenten Sermon series, “The Words of Life From the Cross,” bring out elements of the rich love of God in Christ.
As St. Paul’s celebrates 150 years of God’s grace in Christ, perhaps there is no better way than to ponder these seven words from the cross. “I thirst,” was the first word revealing Jesus’ humanity as well as Divinity as well as solidarity with our suffering. Only the Christian God suffers with us, for us, and by us. The second word of the cross, “Today, you will be with me in paradise,” is high, high grace. A corrupt son of Abraham, touched by Christ’s word of pardon, came to faith in the eleventh hour. A dying Man gave to the dying man life, forgiveness, and paradise.
The third word this Wednesday at 7:30 will also speak volumes about love. The Spirit invites you to come each week so that your joy might be full!
